Sklar Michel Applying and Removing Forceps
A dual purpose forceps used to both apply and remove Michel skin clips during wound closure and follow up care.
The Sklar Michel Applying and Removing Forceps is built to work with Michel clips, the small metal skin clips used as an alternative to sutures for closing skin wounds and surgical incisions. Because the same instrument can both place the clips during closure and later remove them once the wound has healed sufficiently, a single forceps covers the full lifecycle of this closure method, which simplifies the instrument set a clinic or ward needs to stock for wound care.
The design lets the clinician position a clip precisely along the wound edge and apply even pressure to close it, and later grip and open a clip cleanly for removal without disturbing the healing tissue underneath. General surgeons, emergency department staff and nurses use this forceps wherever Michel clips are the chosen method of skin closure, such as scalp lacerations or certain surgical incisions.
It measures 5 inches overall. This listing is a single configuration. As with other Sklar surgical instruments, it is manufactured from surgical stainless steel and intended for repeated cleaning and sterilisation between patients.
