Sklar Merit Crile Wood Needle Holder, Serrated
A 6 inch needle holder with a serrated jaw combining a needle holder and suture scissor grip, used for suturing during minor and general surgery.
The Sklar Merit Crile Wood Needle Holder combines the grasping function of a needle holder with a scissor style pattern in a single compact instrument, allowing the surgeon to hold a suturing needle securely while working. The jaws are serrated to prevent the needle from twisting or slipping during passage through tissue, and a ratcheted handle locks the jaws shut once the needle is positioned.
This particular size measures 6 inches, a length well suited to general suturing tasks where a shorter reach and precise control are preferred over a longer instrument. The Crile Wood pattern is a widely recognised design used across general surgery, gynaecology and minor procedure settings wherever sutures need to be placed and tied.
Manufactured from surgical grade stainless steel, it is built to withstand routine autoclave sterilisation and repeated use over the life of the instrument. It is typically stocked alongside suture material and other suturing instruments in general surgical and procedure trays.
