Sklar Mayo-Stille Dissecting Scissors, Straight
A straight, robust dissecting scissors used to cut resilient tissue and perform blunt dissection during general surgery.
The Sklar Mayo-Stille Dissecting Scissors is another member of the Mayo family of general surgical scissors, built with sturdy straight blades suited to cutting through fascia, muscle sheath and thicker suture material. Because it holds up to more demanding cutting tasks than a fine dissecting scissors, it is a common fixture on general surgery trays for use whenever the tissue being divided requires more force than a delicate instrument can safely provide.
The straight blade profile gives a predictable, direct cutting line useful when working along a relatively linear tissue plane, and the blades can also be used for gentle blunt spreading of tissue during dissection. Surgeons across general, gynaecological and orthopaedic surgery keep this pattern available as a dependable, general purpose cutting tool.
This listing covers two lengths, 5-1/2 and 6-3/4 inches, each supplied as two units. As with other Sklar surgical instruments, it is manufactured from surgical stainless steel for repeated sterilisation and use.
