Sklar Martel Scalp Flap Forceps, Straight
A straight forceps with a flat horizontal tip used to grasp and manage the scalp flap during cranial and neurosurgical procedures.
The Sklar Martel Scalp Flap Forceps is used during craniotomy and other neurosurgical procedures to hold and manage the reflected scalp flap once it has been raised to expose the skull. The horizontal flat tip is shaped to grip the flap's edge without tearing the tissue, letting the surgical team position it out of the way and keep tension consistent while other steps of the procedure, such as bone work, are carried out beneath it.
Because the scalp is well vascularised, a controlled and even grip along the flap edge also helps manage the field and keep the flap oriented correctly for closure at the end of the case. Neurosurgeons and their assisting teams use this instrument as part of a dedicated cranial or craniotomy instrument set.
It measures 5-1/2 inches overall and is supplied straight. This listing is a single configuration. As with other Sklar surgical instruments, it is manufactured from surgical stainless steel for repeated sterilisation and reuse.
