Sklar Long Oral Stitch Scissors
An extended reach scissors used to cut and remove sutures placed deep within the oral cavity during dental or oral surgery.
The Sklar Long Oral Stitch Scissors is a suture scissors built with extra length so a clinician can reach sutures placed toward the back of the mouth or in the oropharynx, where a standard short handled stitch scissors would not comfortably reach. The fine tip is designed to slip under a stitch and cut it cleanly against the mucosa without disturbing the surrounding tissue, which matters in the mouth where space is limited and visibility can be reduced.
This pattern is used by oral and maxillofacial surgeons, dental surgeons and ENT clinicians when removing sutures after procedures such as tonsillectomy, palate surgery or dental extractions requiring closure. Its extended reach reduces the need for the clinician to work at an awkward angle or ask the patient to open unusually wide.
This listing measures 6-1/4 inches overall and is offered as a single configuration. Being a reusable stainless steel instrument, it should be cleaned and sterilised between patients as part of a standard oral surgery or dental instrument tray.
