Sklar Littlewood Tissue Forceps, 2x3 Teeth
A toothed tissue forceps used to grasp and hold firm or fibrous tissue securely during general surgical and gynaecological procedures.
The Sklar Littlewood Tissue Forceps is a grasping forceps used to hold onto tougher tissue that needs a firmer bite than a fine dissecting forceps can provide. Its 2x3 tooth pattern interlocks to grip tissue such as fascia, uterine wall or other resilient structures without the jaws slipping during traction or manipulation, a quality that has made it a longstanding choice in general surgery and gynaecology, including procedures such as myomectomy or hysterectomy where firm tissue control is needed.
Surgeons use it to stabilise or retract tissue while other steps of the procedure are carried out, often working alongside clamps and retractors on the same tray. It measures 7-1/4 inches overall, a length suited to open abdominal and pelvic access. This listing is a single configuration rather than a range of sizes or patterns.
As a reusable stainless steel surgical instrument, it should be cleaned, inspected and sterilised according to standard instrument reprocessing protocols before each use.
