Sklar Jackson Laryngeal Rotation Forceps, Alligator Style
An 11-1/2 inch alligator style forceps with cross-serrated jaws, used to grasp tissue or foreign material during laryngeal and airway procedures.
The Sklar Jackson Laryngeal Rotation Forceps is an 11-1/2 inch instrument built in an alligator style, meaning its jaws hinge open and shut in a jawed, snapping motion suited to working through a narrow instrument channel or laryngoscope. 5mm wide and carry a cross-serrated surface, which improves grip on tissue or foreign objects encountered during laryngeal work, and the instrument's rotation feature allows the jaws to be turned to the angle that best suits the target within the airway.
It is used by ENT and airway surgeons during laryngoscopy and related procedures where tissue must be grasped, biopsied or where foreign material needs to be retrieved from the larynx or upper airway. The long shaft length reflects the need to reach through a laryngoscope from outside the patient down to the working area.
As a reusable stainless steel instrument, it should be cleaned and sterilized between cases following standard reprocessing protocols, with the jaw hinge and cross-serrations checked for wear before use.
