Sklar Guyon Dilating Sound Set, 21 Sounds
A complete Sklar Guyon dilating sound set with 21 sounds from 10 to 30 French and 4 filiform sounds in a metal case, for progressive urethral dilation.
The Sklar Guyon Dilating Sound Set is a complete urology instrument set containing 21 dilating sounds ranging from 10 to 30 French, plus 4 filiform sounds, all organized together in a metal case. The graduated range of sound sizes allows a urologist to perform progressive urethral dilation in a single session, working from a smaller diameter sound up through successively larger sizes as the urethra dilates, which reduces the trauma associated with attempting a large diameter instrument on a narrowed or strictured urethra in one step.
The filiform sounds included in the set are used for negotiating tight or tortuous strictures before switching to the standard dilating sounds. Urology departments managing urethral stricture disease and related conditions rely on complete sets like this so the full range of sizes is always available together, correctly organized and easy to track through sterile processing.
This is a single, complete set as offered by Sklar, and it is a comprehensive alternative to purchasing individual dilating sounds separately.
