Sklar Foerster Sponge Forceps, Straight, Serrated
A straight, serrated 9-1/2 inch Sklar Foerster sponge forceps, used to grasp and hold sponges or swabs during surgical site preparation and procedures.
The Sklar Foerster Sponge Forceps is a ring handled instrument with serrated jaws, offered here in the straight, 9-1/2 inch configuration, used to firmly grasp a sponge, gauze swab or cotton ball during surgical preparation and throughout a procedure. The serrated jaw surface grips absorbent material securely without tearing it, and the ratcheted ring handle allows the instrument to be locked closed so the sponge stays in place while the surgeon or nurse uses it to clean, blot or apply pressure within the surgical field.
This pattern is available from Sklar across a wide range of lengths, curvatures and jaw finishes, with fourteen variants covering straight and curved shafts in both serrated and smooth jaw options and lengths from 9-1/2 up to 14 inches, so departments can select the combination that suits the depth of the surgical field and the surgeon's preference.
Sponge forceps of this kind are standard equipment in general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, and any procedure where sterile swabbing or antiseptic application is required.
