Sklar Ferris-Smith Nasal Forceps, 5 Inch
A five inch forceps used to grasp and remove tissue, polyps or foreign material from within the nasal cavity during ENT surgical procedures.
The Sklar Ferris-Smith Nasal Forceps is used during ENT surgery to grasp and remove tissue, such as nasal polyps, from within the confined space of the nasal cavity, where a general purpose forceps would be too large or the wrong shape to work effectively. At five inches, it is proportioned specifically for reaching into the nose without an oversized instrument crowding the surgical field or obstructing the surgeon's view.
The Ferris-Smith pattern is a recognised name within ENT instrumentation, and forceps of this design are used across a range of nasal and sinus procedures where tissue needs to be grasped, avulsed or removed under direct or endoscopic visualisation. It is used by ENT surgeons and their assistants during functional endoscopic sinus surgery, polypectomy and related procedures.
As a stainless steel instrument, it is designed for the repeated cleaning and sterilisation cycles typical of hospital ENT instrument sets and for continued reuse across many surgical cases in a theatre setting.
