Sklar Elsasser Prostatectomy Forceps, Curved
An eight inch curved shank forceps used to reach and grasp prostate tissue during prostatectomy and related urological surgical procedures.
The Sklar Elsasser Prostatectomy Forceps is designed for use during prostatectomy and related urological surgery, where the curved shank allows the surgeon to reach and grasp prostate tissue in the confined and deep anatomical space of the pelvis without a straight instrument obstructing access. This extra large size variant gives a longer working reach than a smaller version of the same pattern, useful for larger patients or deeper surgical fields.
At eight inches, the forceps is proportioned specifically for the pelvic depth typical of prostate surgery rather than general abdominal use. Instruments carrying the Elsasser name and this curved shank design are used by urologists and their assistants during open and some minimally invasive prostatectomy procedures where tissue needs to be grasped and manipulated deep within the pelvis.
As a stainless steel instrument, it is built for the repeated cleaning and sterilisation cycles of hospital instrument processing and for continued reuse across many urological surgical cases.
