Sklar Edge Supercut TC Kilner Scissors, Curved
A five inch curved tungsten carbide Kilner scissors from Sklar's Supercut range, used for precise cutting of fine tissue in plastic and ENT surgery.
The Sklar Edge Sklarhone Super-Cut Kilner Scissors is a five inch curved scissors built with tungsten carbide cutting edges, giving it a sharper, longer lasting edge than an equivalent plain stainless steel instrument. The Kilner pattern is associated with plastic and reconstructive surgery, particularly around the face and nose, where fine, controlled cutting of skin and soft tissue is needed without excess drag or tearing.
The Super-Cut design pairs a razor sharp edge with a micro-serrated edge, an arrangement meant to grip fine tissue as it is cut, reducing the tendency of soft material to slip between the blades before it is fully divided. This kind of scissors is used by plastic, reconstructive and ENT surgeons during procedures where cosmetic outcome and precision both matter, such as rhinoplasty and other facial surgery.
Because the cutting surfaces are tungsten carbide, the instrument is handled with the care appropriate to precision cutting instruments, while still being built for repeated sterilisation and continued clinical use.
