Sklar Econo Halsted Mosquito Forceps, Straight
A disposable straight mosquito hemostatic forceps used to clamp small blood vessels and control bleeding during fine surgical procedures. Supplied disposable for single use and packed 12 to a unit for routine clinic and hospital stock.
The Econo Halsted mosquito hemostatic forceps from Sklar are a disposable, fine-tipped clamp used to grasp and occlude small blood vessels during surgery, helping control bleeding at the operative site. This straight-jawed build at five inches gives a direct line of approach to the vessel, suited to situations where the surgeon is working in line with the tissue plane rather than needing to approach from an angle.
As with the curved version of this pattern, the fine jaw serrations grip small vessels securely without the wider tissue damage that a larger hemostatic forceps could cause, and a ratcheted box lock lets the surgeon leave the clamp in place while attending to other steps of the procedure. Supplied disposable, the forceps are used for a single case and discarded, keeping the jaw serrations sharp for every use rather than allowing them to wear down over repeated sterilisation cycles, which matters directly for reliable bleeding control on small vessels.
General, plastic, and paediatric surgery departments commonly stock both straight and curved mosquito forceps side by side, since most procedures call for a mix of both depending on vessel orientation.
