Sklar Econo Halsted Mosquito Forceps, Curved
A disposable curved mosquito hemostatic forceps used to clamp small blood vessels and control bleeding during fine surgical procedures. Supplied disposable for single use and packed 12 to a unit for routine clinic and hospital stock.
The Econo Halsted mosquito hemostatic forceps from Sklar are a disposable, fine-tipped clamp used to grasp and occlude small blood vessels during surgery, helping control bleeding at the operative site. The curved jaw of this build allows the surgeon to approach a vessel from an angled direction, which is useful when working around other tissue structures that a straight-jawed clamp would obstruct.
At five inches, the forceps are shorter and finer than a general hemostatic forceps such as a Crile, matching their intended use on smaller vessels during delicate or plastic surgical work rather than larger vascular structures. A ratcheted box lock allows the clamp to hold its grip on the vessel while the surgeon's hands are freed for other tasks.
Supplied disposable, the forceps are used for a single case and discarded, keeping the fine jaw serrations sharp and reliable throughout, which matters for a small-vessel clamp where grip precision affects bleeding control. General, plastic, and paediatric surgery departments commonly use mosquito forceps of this type in high volume during nearly every procedure.
Packed twelve to a box, it is a routine, high-turnover instrument.
