Sklar Econo Foerster Sponge Forceps, Serrated
A long, disposable ring-handled sponge forceps used to hold and position gauze swabs during surgical prepping, packing, and cleaning. Supplied disposable for single use and packed 12 to a unit for routine clinic and hospital stock.
The Econo Foerster sponge forceps from Sklar are a disposable ring-handled instrument used to grip gauze swabs and sponges for surgical field preparation, wound cleaning, and packing. At nine and a half inches, the forceps offer considerably more reach than a shorter sponge forceps, making them well suited to prepping larger surgical fields or packing deeper wounds and cavities where the surgeon needs distance between the working tip and their hand.
This listing covers both a curved and a straight jaw, each with a serrated tip that grips folded gauze securely without letting it slip free during use, and a ratcheted box lock that allows the grip to be secured hands-free while the surgeon continues with other tasks. Supplied disposable, the forceps are used once per case and discarded, avoiding cross-contamination between patients and skipping the sterilisation turnaround for an instrument used frequently throughout most procedures.
Operating theatres, labour wards, and outpatient surgical suites commonly stock this pattern in volume. Packed twelve to a box, it suits departments performing regular surgical prepping and packing as part of daily practice.
