Sklar Econo Derf Needle Holder, Serrated Groove
A compact, disposable needle holder with serrated, grooved jaws, used for fine and precise suturing where a short instrument gives better control. Supplied disposable for single use and packed 12 to a unit for routine clinic and hospital stock.
The Econo Derf needle holder from Sklar is a disposable ring-handled instrument built shorter than a standard needle holder, giving the surgeon more control during fine, detailed suturing where a longer handle would reduce precision. The jaws carry a serrated pattern with a central groove, which is designed to hold the suture needle firmly against rotation while still allowing the needle to be repositioned quickly between passes.
At four and three quarter inches, the holder is well suited to plastic surgery, hand surgery, and other close work where the surgeon needs to make small, controlled movements over a confined area. Supplied disposable, the holder arrives with sharp, well-aligned serrations for every case and is discarded afterward, avoiding the loss of grip that reusable needle holders can develop over repeated sterilisation cycles.
Departments performing fine or cosmetic suturing commonly keep this pattern available alongside longer, general-purpose needle holders. Packed twelve to a box, it is a practical stock item for surgical and outpatient settings that require precise needle control on a routine basis.
