Sklar Econo Babcock Forceps, 6-1/4 Inch
A disposable ring-handled forceps with broad, curved jaws used to atraumatically grasp bowel, ureter, and other tubular or delicate structures in surgery. Supplied disposable for single use and packed 12 to a unit for routine clinic and hospital stock.
The Econo Babcock forceps from Sklar are a disposable ring-handled instrument built to hold hollow and delicate anatomical structures without crushing them. The jaws curve outward and are fenestrated, spreading the grip over a wider surface area than a straight-jawed clamp, which suits bowel, fallopian tube, ureter, and similar tissue that needs to be held firmly enough to manipulate but gently enough to avoid perforation or damage.
A ratcheted box lock allows the surgeon to secure the grip and set the instrument aside while continuing the procedure. At six and a quarter inches, it is sized for general and gynaecological surgery where reach into the abdominal or pelvic cavity is needed. Supplied disposable, each forceps is used for a single case, keeping the jaw alignment accurate and avoiding the gradual loosening that can occur in reusable ring instruments after repeated sterilisation cycles.
This makes it a practical option for surgical departments that want consistent atraumatic grasping performance without the overhead of instrument reprocessing, and the box of twelve suits routine restocking.
