Sklar Duval Lung Forceps, Triangular Serrated
A straight forceps with triangular, serrated jaws used to grasp lung tissue gently during thoracic surgery, available in two lengths and jaw widths.
The Sklar Duval Lung Forceps is used during thoracic surgery to grasp and hold lung tissue, which is delicate and prone to tearing under uneven pressure. Its distinctive triangular jaw shape, combined with a serrated surface, spreads the holding force across a wider area than a straight-jawed forceps would, letting the surgeon retract or manipulate the lung with a secure but controlled grip.
This listing covers four variants, including eight and nine inch lengths and, for the longer size, a one inch jaw width, giving a thoracic team a choice suited to the size of the lung tissue being handled and the depth of the surgical field. Instruments of this pattern are standard equipment in lung resection, lobectomy and other pulmonary procedures, used by thoracic surgeons and their assistants throughout the case.
As a stainless steel instrument, it is built to be cleaned, sterilised and reused repeatedly as part of a thoracic surgery instrument set in a hospital theatre.
