Sklar Doyen Intestinal Forceps, Straight Serrated
A straight forceps with diagonally serrated jaws designed to occlude and hold bowel tissue during intestinal surgery without crushing the wall.
The Sklar Doyen Intestinal Forceps is designed to occlude or hold a length of bowel during intestinal and abdominal surgery. Its jaws carry a diagonal serration pattern that spreads pressure across the tissue, letting the surgeon control the bowel and reduce spillage of contents during resection or anastomosis without crushing the intestinal wall the way a sharper clamp might.
The straight pattern is well suited to working along the length of the bowel and is a familiar instrument on general and gastrointestinal surgery trays. It is used by general surgeons and surgical assistants during procedures such as bowel resection, colostomy formation and enterotomy repair, where a temporary, atraumatic hold on soft tissue is needed.
This listing covers six variants of the Doyen pattern, giving theatres a choice within the family to match instrument sets already in use. Built in surgical grade stainless steel, it withstands the cleaning and steam sterilisation cycles standard in hospital sterile services departments and is intended for repeated use across many procedures.
