Sklar Carroll Artery Forceps, 3-1/2in
A 3-1/2 inch artery forceps used to clamp and control small blood vessels during general, plastic and vascular surgical procedures.
The Sklar Carroll Artery Forceps is a 3-1/2 inch clamping instrument built to give surgeons control over small bleeding vessels encountered during routine dissection. Like other artery forceps in this size range, it is reached for repeatedly through a case whenever a minor vessel needs to be occluded quickly before ligation or cautery, rather than being used for the larger pedicles that call for longer Carmalt or Kelly style clamps.
The locking ratchet handle allows the jaws to stay closed on the vessel without the operator maintaining a grip, which speeds up the pace of dissection in procedures such as general surgery, plastic surgery and minor vascular work. Surgeons, surgical assistants and scrub technicians use this type of forceps across a wide range of specialties because bleeding control is a constant need in almost every open procedure.
As a reusable stainless steel surgical instrument, it is cleaned, inspected for wear and sterilized between cases following the facility's standard instrument reprocessing protocol.
