Sklar Byrd Cannula, 1.5mm, 8-1/2 Inch
An 8-1/2 inch cannula with a 1.5mm bore, available in three sizes, used for controlled irrigation or aspiration during surgical procedures.
The Sklar Byrd Cannula is a surgical cannula measuring eight and a half inches with a bore of one and a half millimetres, available in three sizes so the surgical team can select the diameter best suited to the fluid volume and tissue type involved in a given procedure. Cannulas of this type are used to deliver irrigation fluid into a surgical site or to aspirate fluid and small debris away from it, helping keep the operative field clear and controlled.
The narrow bore and moderate length make this cannula suitable for procedures where access is somewhat confined but still requires steady fluid management, such as certain plastic, ENT or general surgical cases. It is used by surgeons and surgical assistants connected to standard irrigation or suction tubing during the case, and like other cannulas it must be flushed and cleaned carefully after use to keep its narrow internal channel free of debris before sterilisation and the next case.
