Sklar Buttoned Probe with Chisel, 2mm
A 6 inch combination instrument pairing a blunt buttoned probe with a 2mm chisel tip, used for exploring and shaping bone in one tool.
The Sklar Buttoned Probe with Chisel is a six inch instrument that combines two working ends in one handle, a blunt buttoned probe tip for exploring tissue or a cavity safely, and a two millimetre chisel tip for shaping or removing small amounts of bone. Having both ends on a single instrument lets the surgeon move between exploration and light bone work without reaching for a second tool, which is useful in smaller procedures where instrument changes slow the pace of the case.
The buttoned tip is rounded and blunt so it can be advanced along a tract or cavity without catching or perforating soft tissue, while the chisel end is sized for fine, controlled bone shaping rather than heavy bone removal. This combination instrument is commonly used in orthopaedic, ENT and oral surgery settings where small bone work is needed alongside gentle tissue exploration.
It is cleaned and sterilised between cases along with the rest of the orthopaedic or general surgical tray.
