Sklar Buie Pile Clamp, 8-1/2 Inch
An 8-1/2 inch clamp used to grasp and control hemorrhoidal tissue during hemorrhoidectomy, giving the surgeon steady traction on the pile mass.
The Sklar Buie Pile Clamp is a surgical clamp used in colorectal and general surgery for hemorrhoidectomy procedures, where it grasps and holds the pile mass steady while the surgeon excises the tissue. At eight and a half inches, the clamp gives enough reach to work within the anal canal while the handle stays outside the operative field for the surgeon to control.
Clamps of this style typically have long, narrow jaws that close along the tissue without crushing surrounding structures more than necessary, and a ratcheted handle that locks the jaws shut so the surgeon does not need to maintain continuous hand pressure during the excision. It is used by general and colorectal surgeons performing open hemorrhoidectomy in hospital operating rooms and day surgery centres, usually as part of a dedicated anorectal instrument set alongside scissors, forceps and retractors suited to the same procedure.
Reprocessing and sterilisation follow the same protocols as other reusable surgical clamps in the tray.
