Sklar Black Babcock Tissue Forceps, 8 inch
A black finished Babcock pattern forceps from Sklar in 8 or 9-1/2 inch lengths, used by surgeons to gently grasp bowel, fallopian tube or other tubular tissue during surgery.
The Sklar Black Laser Babcock Forceps follow the Babcock pattern, recognised for its wide, curved, fenestrated jaw designed to hold tubular structures such as bowel or fallopian tube without crushing them. Finished in a black, non reflective coating, these forceps are intended for use alongside a surgical laser, where a bright metal surface could otherwise reflect the beam within the surgical field.
This listing is available in 8 inch and 9-1/2 inch lengths, giving the surgical team a choice depending on the depth of the field and the structure being grasped. Babcock forceps are used by general and gynecologic surgeons whenever a gentle but secure hold on soft, tubular tissue is needed during dissection, mobilisation or laser treatment of a lesion.
Each forceps in this listing is sold separately rather than as a pair. As a reusable stainless instrument with a specialised finish, it should be cleaned and sterilized carefully to preserve the black coating. Surgical centres across the UAE and GCC stock black finished Babcock forceps for laser assisted procedures.
