Sklar Bergmann Bandage Scissors, Angled, Smooth
A 9 inch angled scissors with blunt, smooth blades, used to cut through bandages and dressings safely without risking injury to the patient.
The Sklar Bergmann Bandage Scissors is a general purpose clinical scissors designed specifically for cutting through bandages, dressings and gauze rather than for surgical tissue work. Measuring 9 inches with an angled blade and blunt, smooth tips on both blades, its shape lets the clinician slide one blade flat against the skin under a bandage while cutting, reducing the risk of nicking the patient during dressing changes or emergency bandage removal.
The angled profile also helps the clinician keep a clear line of sight to the cutting edge while working close to the body. This pattern of scissors is a mainstay in wards, emergency departments, wound care clinics and operating rooms wherever dressings need to be removed or trimmed quickly and safely.
The smooth blade edges are suited to clean, controlled cuts through soft fabric and gauze rather than the fine or serrated edges found on tissue cutting scissors. As with other Sklar instruments, it is manufactured for repeated clinical use with standard sterilization between patients, and is typically stocked in larger quantities given how frequently bandage scissors are used and misplaced in clinical areas.
