Sklar Baumgartner Needle Holder, Serrated, Straight
A 5-1/4 inch straight needle holder with serrated jaws, used to grip and drive suture needles with control during general and plastic surgery.
The Sklar Baumgartner Needle Holder is a compact, straight needle holder measuring 5-1/4 inches with serrated jaws for secure needle purchase during suturing. Its shorter length and light profile make it a favorite for fine work such as skin closure, facial and hand surgery and other procedures where a delicate touch and precise needle control matter more than reach or holding power on heavier tissue.
The serrated jaw surface grips the needle firmly enough to prevent rotation during driving while still allowing the surgeon to reposition the needle quickly between passes. The Baumgartner pattern is a recognized standard in plastic, ophthalmic adjacent and general surgical settings for this reason, and is often paired with fine forceps and small suture in the same tray.
Manufactured to the same standard as the rest of the Sklar instrument line, it is intended for repeated clinical use with standard sterilization between cases. Facilities building out plastic surgery, dermatology or general surgical trays commonly include this needle holder alongside longer, heavier duty holders reserved for deeper or tougher tissue.
