Sklar Baum-Metzenbaum Tonsil Needle Holder, Curved
A 7 inch fenestrated, curved jaw needle holder designed for suturing during tonsillectomy and other ENT procedures where precise needle control is needed.
The Sklar Baum-Metzenbaum Tonsil Needle Holder is a needle holder built for the specific demands of tonsil and pharyngeal surgery, where the surgeon needs precise needle control in a confined space at the back of the mouth or throat. It measures 7 inches and has curved, fenestrated jaws, meaning each jaw carries an open window rather than a solid gripping surface, a design that reduces tissue trauma and improves the surgeon's view of the needle as it passes through tissue.
The curved jaw profile helps the instrument follow the natural angle of approach in oral and pharyngeal work, where a straight needle holder would be harder to position. ENT surgeons rely on needle holders of this type for closing tonsillar beds, pharyngeal mucosa and related soft tissue after tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy and similar procedures.
As with the rest of the Sklar needle holder range, it is designed for repeated clinical use and standard sterilization between cases, and is a common addition to ENT and head and neck surgical instrument sets.
