Sklar Baker Crown Scissors, Curved
A curved dental scissors with short blades and finger rings, used to cut through crowns during removal in general dental practice. It is a standard item stocked by surgical facilities across the UAE and wider GCC.
The Sklar Baker Crown Scissors is a curved dental instrument with short blades and finger ring handles, used to cut through a cemented crown when it needs to be sectioned for removal rather than lifted intact. Sectioning a crown with dedicated scissors gives the dentist a controlled way to divide a restoration that is fractured, poorly fitting, or otherwise unsuitable to remove whole, reducing the force needed compared with prying alone and lowering the risk of damage to the underlying tooth.
The short blade length and finger ring grip give the operator fine control in the confined space of the mouth, where a longer or differently handled instrument would be harder to manage precisely. This scissors is used in general dentistry and prosthodontics whenever a crown, temporary restoration, or similar cemented structure needs to be cut away rather than extracted whole, and it is a routine addition to a restorative dental instrument tray.
It is cleaned and sterilized between patients along with the rest of the dental kit.
