Sklar Baby Mixter Forceps, Curved Partial Serration
A small right angle forceps, curved with partially serrated jaws, used to clamp vessels or tissue in narrow or deep surgical spaces. It is supplied for repeated sterilization and reuse in hospital and clinic settings.
The Sklar Baby Mixter Forceps is a curved right angle forceps with partially serrated jaws, offered here at 5 inches and also available in a 7 inch length, used to reach around and clamp vessels or ducts in tight or deep surgical spaces where a straight instrument cannot approach the target from the correct angle.
The right angle jaw allows the tip to be passed behind a structure such as the cystic duct or a small vessel so it can be encircled and clamped or a ligature passed around it, a manoeuvre common in gallbladder, vascular, and thoracic surgery. The baby size scale of this version suits pediatric procedures or adult surgery in confined anatomical spaces where a full sized Mixter forceps would be too bulky.
Partial serration on the jaw provides secure grip on the target structure while limiting trauma to surrounding tissue. This forceps is a standard component of general, pediatric, and cardiothoracic surgery trays, used by surgeons whenever right angle access to a vessel or duct is required.
