Sklar Alligator Ear Forceps, Smooth
A 3-1/4 inch smooth ear forceps with a 0.8mm tip, used to grasp fine tissue and debris during ear surgery. It is stocked by hospitals and clinics performing this type of procedure.
8mm tip used to grasp small pieces of tissue, wax or debris within the narrow confines of the ear canal or middle ear during microscopic ear surgery. The alligator jaw pattern provides a relatively wide bite in proportion to its slim overall profile, which suits work within the confined space of the external auditory canal where instrument diameter is limited by anatomy.
The smooth jaw surface, as opposed to a serrated or toothed pattern, is intended for gentle handling of delicate middle and inner ear structures where excessive grip friction could cause tissue damage. ENT surgeons performing tympanoplasty, mastoidectomy or other microscopic ear procedures use forceps of this fine scale as a standard part of their otologic instrument set, typically alongside picks, curettes and other fine ear surgery tools built to the same small working scale.
