Sklar Adson Bayonet Dressing Forceps, Delicate
A 7 1/2 inch, delicate dressing forceps with a bayonet shaped shaft and serrated tips, used to grasp tissue during ENT and eye surgery.
The Sklar Adson Bayonet Dressing Forceps is a delicate surgical forceps measuring 7 1/2 inches, built with a bayonet shaped shaft that offsets the tip from the surgeon's line of sight down the handle, and finished with straight, serrated jaws for a secure grip on tissue or dressing material. The bayonet offset is a design feature commonly used in ENT and ophthalmic surgery, where the surgeon works while looking directly along a narrow channel such as the ear canal or through an operating microscope, and a straight handled instrument would otherwise block the view of the working tip.
The delicate build and serrated tip suit fine tissue handling in these confined surgical fields, where excessive grip force can damage sensitive structures. This forceps is a standard instrument in ENT and ophthalmic instrument sets, used for grasping tissue, dressings or small material during procedures in these specialties.
As a reusable stainless surgical instrument, it is sterilised between cases.
