Sklar Adair Breast Tenaculum, 7.5in
A 7 1/2 inch tenaculum used to grasp and stabilise breast tissue during breast surgery or biopsy procedures.
The Sklar Adair Breast Tenaculum is a surgical instrument measuring 7 1/2 inches, used to grasp and stabilise breast tissue during breast surgery, biopsy or other procedures that involve manipulating the breast for access or excision. The toothed tip grips tissue firmly enough to hold it steady and apply gentle traction, which helps the surgeon position the area of interest for an accurate incision or excision without the tissue shifting out of place.
This instrument is a standard part of breast surgery instrument sets used by general and plastic surgeons performing lumpectomy, breast biopsy and reconstructive procedures, valued for the control it gives over tissue that would otherwise be difficult to hold steady with fingers alone. Instruments like this are used at the start of and throughout a breast procedure wherever the tissue needs to be fixed in position for a step to proceed accurately.
As a reusable stainless surgical instrument, it is sterilised between cases as part of the breast surgery instrument set.
