Sklar Abraham Tonsil Grasping Forceps, 8in
A slightly curved, 8 inch forceps with horizontal serrations, used to grasp tonsil tissue securely during tonsillectomy and ENT surgery.
The Sklar Abraham Tonsil Grasping Forceps is a slightly curved forceps measuring 8 inches, with horizontal serrations along the jaw and an opening built into the tip, used to grasp and hold tonsil tissue firmly during tonsillectomy and related ENT procedures. The horizontal serration pattern is designed to secure a stable grip on the tonsil without the tissue slipping free as the surgeon applies traction to bring it into view or position it for dissection, while the opening in the tip accommodates the shape of the tissue being grasped.
The slight curve gives the surgeon a natural approach angle into the oropharynx, where straight access is limited by the mouth and throat anatomy. This forceps is a standard instrument in ENT surgical sets used for tonsil and adenoid surgery, kept alongside dissecting and haemostatic instruments specific to that procedure.
As a reusable stainless surgical instrument, it is sterilised between cases as part of the ENT instrument set.
