Saline Eye Wash, Sodium Chloride 0.9 Percent
A sterile saline eye wash containing sodium chloride 0.9% w/v Ph.Eur, supplied with a twist-seal cap, meeting mandatory HSE requirements for workplace first aid provision.
Eur standard, the same isotonic saline concentration widely used to flush foreign material, dust or minor chemical splashes from the eye. It is sterile, safe and non-toxic, and is provided with a twist-seal cap that keeps the solution sealed and uncontaminated until it is needed, then reseals if only part of the bottle is used.
Provision of an eye wash of this kind is mandatory under HSE regulations for many workplaces, particularly where staff work with dust, chemicals, wood or metal particles, or other materials that can cause eye irritation or injury. It is intended for use by first aiders, safety officers and workplace clinics as an immediate response item, allowing an affected eye to be irrigated quickly after an incident rather than waiting for the injured person to reach running water.
