The SOF Tourniquet is a combat proven style of windlass tourniquet used by military medics, paramedics and trained first aiders to stop severe, life threatening bleeding from an arm or leg. 5 inch width, chosen to spread pressure across the limb effectively while still gliding smoothly through the rugged buckle during application.
This combination allows the tourniquet to be applied quickly and confidently using one hand for self application or two hands when helping another casualty. The buckle is built to take up excess slack in one fluid motion and to keep the band locked stable at whatever angle it sits on the limb, so tension is not lost once the tourniquet has been tightened.
Because a bleeding emergency leaves very little margin for error, the design favours speed and reliability over complexity, making it suitable for vehicle first aid kits, workplace bleed control stations, tactical medical pouches and any setting where major limb bleeding is a recognised risk.
