Reliance Medical Eyewash Station, 100% Recycled Plastic
A 100% recycled plastic eyewash station with a larger shatterproof mirror and illustrated instructions, holding two 500ml bottles of sterile solution.
The Eyewash Station is a wall mounted unit used to give workplaces fast access to sterile eyewash solution and eye dressings following an eye irritation or foreign body incident. This updated version is now made from 100% recycled and recyclable plastic, reducing the environmental footprint of the station while still supporting the same emergency function.
Physical improvements to the design include a larger, shatterproof mirror, described as 88 percent bigger than the previous version, giving users a clearer view when treating their own eye, and the overall unit is 50 percent smaller and uses 47 percent less wall space, using less plastic while remaining easier to access.
Instructions on the station are illustrated rather than relying purely on text, meaning no translation is required for a workforce that may not share a single first language, which supports safer, correct use in an emergency. The station incorporates two 500 millilitre bottles of sterile solution along with eye pad dressings, giving a complete self contained response to minor eye incidents in busy workplaces such as workshops, warehouses and laboratories.
