A dual head stethoscope combining a diaphragm and bell chest piece with PVC eartips and tubing, used to detect and amplify body sounds during examination.
The Dual Head Stethoscope is a diagnostic instrument used by nurses, doctors and other clinical staff for the detection and amplification of sounds associated with various organs of the human body, most commonly the heart, lungs and abdomen during a routine examination. Its combination diaphragm and bell chest piece gives the clinician a choice of listening surface depending on the type of sound being assessed, with the diaphragm generally suited to higher pitched sounds and the bell better suited to lower pitched sounds, allowing more thorough assessment from a single instrument.
Soft PVC eartips are fitted to improve comfort during extended use and to help create a better seal in the ear canal, which supports clearer sound transmission and reduces outside noise interference. Flexible PVC tubing connects the eartips to the chest piece, carrying sound with minimal distortion while remaining durable enough for daily clinical use.
The chest piece itself is made from lightweight aluminum, keeping the overall stethoscope comfortable to wear around the neck or carry in a pocket throughout a working shift in a clinic, hospital ward or general practice.
