Nebulizer Mask for Respiratory Therapy
A nebulizer mask used to deliver medication as an inhaled mist during nebulizer treatment for asthma, COPD, cystic fibrosis and other respiratory conditions for daily hospital and clinic use.
A Nebulizer Mask fits over the nose and mouth and connects to a nebulizer, a drug delivery device used to administer medication in the form of a fine mist that the patient breathes directly into the lungs. Nebulizers, and the masks that connect to them, are commonly used for the treatment of asthma, cystic fibrosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and other respiratory diseases or disorders where inhaled medication offers a more direct route than tablets or other forms.
The nebulizer itself uses oxygen, compressed air or ultrasonic power to break up liquid solutions and suspensions into small aerosol droplets, and the mask is what allows the patient to inhale that aerosol comfortably and consistently rather than trying to breathe it in from an open device. A well fitting mask matters for effective treatment, since gaps around the face can let medication escape into the surrounding air rather than reaching the patient's airway.
Masks like this are used across age groups, from children through to adults, wherever nebulized medication is part of the treatment plan. Hospitals, clinics, home care patients and pharmacies use nebulizer masks as a routine respiratory therapy accessory.
