Luxator Elevator for Dental Tooth Extraction
The Luxator elevator is designed for efficient tooth extractions, giving the dentist a precise instrument to loosen teeth with minimal trauma to the surrounding bone.
The Luxator elevator is a dental instrument with a thinner, sharper blade than a traditional elevator, designed to be worked around the tooth root to cut the periodontal ligament rather than lever against bone in the way a standard elevator does. This is intended to loosen the tooth with less pressure against the surrounding bone, which can support a more comfortable extraction and reduce trauma to the socket compared with heavier leverage techniques.
It is used across a range of dental extraction procedures, particularly where preserving the socket's bone and soft tissue matters, such as ahead of a planned implant placement. Being a precision instrument, the Luxator is generally used early in the extraction sequence to sever ligament attachments before a standard elevator or forceps completes the removal.
As with other reusable dental instruments, it is cleaned and sterilised between patients as part of standard practice. General dentists, oral surgeons and implant dentists rely on this style of elevator for efficient, lower trauma tooth extractions.
