This is a replacement battery for the Lifepoint Pro automated external defibrillator, designed to restore the device to full readiness once its original battery has been used or has expired. It is a 12 volt, non-rechargeable battery made specifically for the Lifepoint Pro AED and is not intended for use in other defibrillator models.
Under optimum conditions of around 20 degrees Celsius, the battery has a service life of approximately 5 years and is rated to deliver up to 100 shocks over that lifetime, which makes it suitable as a standby power source for emergency response settings such as hospitals, clinics, workplaces and public access defibrillator points.
Replacing the battery is straightforward, involving removing the screws from the cover of the battery compartment at the rear of the AED unit and fitting the new battery in its place. Keeping a fresh, in-date battery installed is essential for AED readiness, since a defibrillator with a depleted battery cannot deliver a shock when needed in a genuine cardiac emergency.
