ECG Monitoring Cable, Universal Trunk Cable
A universal ECG trunk cable that connects the patient monitor to a set of reusable or disposable leadwires for continuous cardiac monitoring. It is a standard item in dental and medical practice.
This ECG Monitoring Cable, also referred to as a patient or trunk cable, is the main cable that runs between the patient monitor and the patient, forming a central part of a continuous ECG monitoring setup. One end of the cable has a monitor specific connector that plugs directly into the ECG port on the patient monitor, ensuring compatibility with that particular monitor model, while the other end, known as the yoke, connects to a set of universal reusable or disposable leadwires, such as the reusable YMRLW5P29 or a corresponding disposable option, which in turn attach to the individual electrodes placed on the patient.
This structure allows a hospital to standardise on a single trunk cable design for a given monitor while still choosing between reusable or disposable leadwires depending on infection control preferences or patient needs, without needing an entirely separate cable for each combination. The trunk cable itself is a durable, reusable component that is cleaned between patients and used across many monitoring episodes.
Biomedical technicians, nurses and monitoring staff use this cable in hospital wards, ICUs and telemetry units wherever continuous ECG monitoring is set up.
