Once installed, it maintains the unit's readiness for up to seven years while the device continues running its routine daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly self-tests.
In active use, the pack is rated to deliver up to 300 defibrillation shocks or 16 hours of continuous operating time, roughly double the capacity of the shorter-life battery option, which can matter for organisations that expect heavier use or want a longer interval between replacements. Each pack includes a new DAC-410 nine-volt lithium battery as part of the kit.
