Contec SP10 Handheld Spirometer
The Contec SP10 is a handheld spirometer that measures lung function values such as FVC, FEV1 and PEF using infrared sensing technology.
The Contec SP10 is a handheld spirometer used to assess pulmonary function by measuring how well a patient's lungs move air in and out. Using an infrared sensing mode to capture the relevant airflow measurements, the device reports parameters including forced vital capacity, forced expiratory volume in one second, the ratio between the two, peak expiratory flow and flow at set points along the forced vital capacity curve.
Because it is compact and handheld, the SP10 suits routine testing in hospitals, clinics and general practice settings where quick, repeatable lung function checks are needed as part of respiratory assessment or monitoring of conditions such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Clinicians use the readings it produces to track a patient's respiratory function over time or to support a diagnosis alongside other clinical findings.
As a diagnostic device rather than a disposable item, it is intended for repeated use across multiple patients, with appropriate use of disposable mouthpieces and cleaning between tests in line with the practice's infection control procedures.
