Bionex Jons Towel Eye Tweezer, Stainless Steel
An autoclavable stainless steel towel forceps used in ophthalmic and general surgery to secure surgical drapes and towels around the operative field.
The Bionex Jons Towel Eye Tweezer, also referred to as a towel forceps, is a stainless steel instrument used to clip and secure surgical towels or drapes in place around the operative field, keeping the sterile boundary of the surgical site stable throughout a procedure. Its locking jaws grip the fabric firmly enough to hold it in position even as staff move around the patient, which helps maintain the sterile field and prevents drapes from shifting during a procedure.
Though it takes its name from ophthalmic use, towel forceps of this type are used broadly across many surgical specialties wherever drapes need to be clipped securely to each other or to the patient's skin at the edge of the surgical field. Made from stainless steel, the forceps is autoclavable and built for the repeated sterilisation cycles that reusable surgical instruments undergo between cases in a hospital operating theatre.
Ophthalmic surgeons, general surgeons and operating theatre nurses rely on towel forceps as a standard, practical part of surgical set up before any procedure begins. As with other reusable stainless steel instruments, it should be cleaned, disinfected and sterilised between patients.
