Bionex Dressing Eye Tissue Forceps
An autoclavable stainless steel dressing forceps used in ophthalmic procedures to gently grasp and handle delicate eye tissue without serrated teeth.
The Bionex Dressing Eye Tissue Forceps is a fine tipped stainless steel instrument designed for gently grasping and handling delicate tissue during ophthalmic examinations and minor eye procedures. As a dressing pattern forceps, its tips are typically smooth or lightly textured rather than sharply toothed, which reduces the risk of damaging the sensitive tissue of the eye and surrounding structures while still giving the clinician a secure enough hold to manipulate tissue or apply a dressing.
This balance of grip and gentleness makes dressing forceps a preferred choice whenever the tissue being handled is thin, delicate or easily traumatised, which describes much of the anatomy around the eye. Ophthalmologists, optometrists and eye clinic nurses use forceps like this during eye examinations, foreign body removal, minor lid procedures and applying or adjusting dressings after eye surgery.
Made from stainless steel, the instrument is autoclavable and built to withstand the repeated sterilisation cycles expected of reusable ophthalmic instruments in a clinic or hospital eye department. As with other reusable stainless steel instruments, it should be cleaned, disinfected and sterilised between patients according to the facility's infection control protocol.
