Bionex Bishop-Harmon Forceps, Stainless Steel
An autoclavable stainless steel ophthalmic forceps used to gently grasp and handle conjunctival and corneal tissue during eye surgery and examinations.
The Bionex Bishop-Harmon Forceps is a fine tipped stainless steel instrument used in ophthalmic surgery to grasp and handle conjunctival and corneal tissue with the gentleness that these delicate surfaces require. Many patterns of this forceps include a small platform on the inner surface of the tip to help control tiny pieces of tissue without crushing them, a feature valued during cataract surgery and other anterior segment procedures where precise, low trauma handling of tissue is important.
Its light, balanced design is intended to give the surgeon steady, fatigue free control during procedures that can involve many small, repeated movements over an extended period. Made from stainless steel, the forceps is autoclavable and built for the repeated cleaning and sterilisation cycles expected of reusable ophthalmic microsurgical instruments in a hospital or specialist eye surgery centre.
Ophthalmic surgeons and eye surgery theatre teams rely on Bishop-Harmon style forceps as a standard part of the anterior segment surgical instrument tray. As with other reusable stainless steel instruments, it should be cleaned, disinfected and sterilised between patients according to the facility's infection control protocol.
