3M V.A.C. Whitefoam Dressing for Skin Grafts
A disposable polyvinyl foam dressing ideal for tunneling wounds and undermining wounds, and for bolstering split thickness skin grafts.
C. C. Therapy negative pressure wound therapy units, including the Prevena Plus 125 Therapy Unit. It is particularly suited to tunneling wounds and undermining wounds, where its denser structure compared with standard black polyurethane foam performs better in situations where hyper-granulation is likely to occur, helping avoid excess tissue growth that can complicate healing.
One of its most established uses is bolstering split thickness skin grafts, where the foam is placed over the graft and connected to negative pressure to hold the graft firmly against the wound bed, supporting graft take by minimising shear and fluid accumulation underneath it. Being a disposable, single-use, sterile packaged dressing, it is used once per application and discarded rather than reprocessed between patients or wound sites.
Surgical and wound care teams select Whitefoam over the standard Granufoam dressing specifically for these tunneling, undermining and skin graft applications, where its firmer, denser foam structure is advantageous.
