3M Microfoam Surgical Tape, Flexible Securement
A flexible, multidirectional stretch surgical tape with cushioning, used to secure dressings and pressure dressings where swelling or movement is expected.
3M Microfoam Surgical Tape is used for clinical applications such as securing dressings, applying added pressure dressings, or fixing dressings in place where swelling or movement of the underlying tissue is anticipated during recovery. Its foam backing gives the tape a multidirectional stretch, allowing it to move with the patient's body rather than staying rigid, which helps the dressing stay secure even as the area beneath it changes shape or the patient moves.
The foam layer also provides a degree of cushioning, adding a layer of comfort at the tape's edges compared with a plain film or fabric tape, which can matter for patients wearing the dressing for an extended period. Nurses and wound care staff use this tape across general surgical, orthopaedic and wound care settings wherever flexible, comfortable securement is needed rather than a completely rigid fixation.
It is stocked under four catalog numbers, covering different widths and pack sizes.
