3M Medical Transfer Adhesive 4075, Extended Wear
An extended wear transfer adhesive on a clear polyester liner, used by device manufacturers to bond layers within multi-layer medical device constructions.
3M Medical Transfer Adhesive 4075, Extended Wear, is a pressure sensitive tackified acrylic transfer adhesive supplied on a 2 mil clear polyester silicone release liner. As a transfer adhesive rather than a tape with its own backing, it is designed to let design engineers apply a thin, consistent adhesive layer to a backing material of their own choosing, giving flexibility across different device constructions.
It is commonly used in multi-layer builds, where the adhesive bonds two or more component layers together within a finished medical device, and is intended for use in the manufacture of health care medical devices rather than direct clinical application. Because it is described as extended wear, this transfer adhesive is suited to devices intended to remain on the skin for longer periods, where adhesion needs to hold reliably over time without excessive irritation.
Medical device manufacturers and converters incorporate this adhesive during their own production processes, and should confirm the adhesive strength and liner specification suit their specific device design and backing material before committing to a production order.
