3M Medical Tape, Rayon Woven Fabric, 1538
A single-sided, white woven rayon fabric tape with pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive, available in standard and long roll lengths for medical device use.
3M Medical Tape, available in Model 1538 and the longer Model 1538L, is a single-sided woven fabric tape consisting of a white, woven rayon acetate backing coated with a pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive. Its liner is a silicone-treated, polyethylene-coated bleached Kraft paper applied to one side only, and the tape is wound with the liner on the inside of the roll.
This woven fabric construction gives the tape a cloth-like feel and some flexibility, distinguishing it from the plastic film and foam tapes elsewhere in 3M's medical component range. As with other tapes in this component series, it is intended for use in the manufacture of health care medical devices rather than direct application to a patient.
